Communication planning

How to Improve Sports Club Member Communication

Members trust communication when they know where official details live and receive relevant updates at the right time.

Create a source-and-channel map

Document where permanent information lives and how website, app, email, push and social channels draw attention to it. This gives volunteers a repeatable decision instead of recreating every message from memory.

Assign approval and response ownership

State who can publish official updates, who monitors replies and how urgent changes are escalated. Shared access should still have accountability, especially for cancellations, incidents or information involving members.

Review whether messages are useful

Look at questions, clicks, unsubscribes and recurring confusion. If members keep asking for the same detail, improve the source page or message structure rather than blaming them for not reading.
